Ecofest Barrie is a community collaboration that brings together individuals and organizations from many walks of life under the common theme of building a sustainable future. We come together to celebrate nature and share ideas on protecting our planet while creating a healthy, prosperous, inclusive community.
Doug Pettigrew of In House Productions launched the festival in 2010, in partnership with the City of Barrie. Every year Ecofest Barrie has grown in size and scope, attracting thousands of people to Barrie’s waterfront over the two-day festival. Partnerships and collaborations grew up around this unique event. In 2012, Back To Basics Social Developments, along with several community partners took over hosting the event as their annual signature fundraiser to showcase and support ongoing environmental programming in the community.
